I like the idea of social media making connections. I just began here on Substack, and it feels like I'm making more connections here than I have on Instagram and Facebook. Thank you!

I loved this - thank you both. As someone who never knows how to show up on social media…so doesn’t (!) this was really thought provoking. Loved it 💕

I really loved the last sentiment of ‘be social on social media’. In other forms of social media I’ve always found it hard. But since being here it feels a lot safer to be social. I’m working on making my way towards that bustling hub on notes.

This was so wonderful and incredibly useful. Thank you to you both. I’m the “fly on the wall”, observing more than participating and feeling rather awkward, I think because I always thought I had to be someone other than me on social media. Time for a rethink!

And you’re already doing this by clicking comment when you could have listened and said nothing, so thank you!

What an interesting take on social media--I love the intentionality that Kat brings to it. Even though I'm not on social media myself, I think that if you are on social media, especially professionally, the way to make it work is to be intentional and find joy in it.

And thank you so much Sarah for linking to my group programme! It's much appreciated :)

My feeling about social media is that to be “good” at it; you need actually work to be part of the community. Answer questions! Converse! That way, promotion doesn’t become like you running into a crowded room you’ve never been in before and screaming, “READ MY BOOK!” before you run back out.

Thank you Sarah for hosting such a lovely interview. Kat! You're a gorgeous rockstar, thank you for opening the door and inviting us in and for the reminder that we can create a heart-centered sacred space in our online community.

I love that you used the example of walking into someone's house because, since coming to Substack, I've held the visual in my head of walking into a neighborhood and considering how I want to show up there.

I feel like someone's given me a warm hug then a very gentle kick in the pants. "OK, sweetheart, stop saying you're all alone now and get out there and make some friends!" This is exactly the conversation I needed to hear. Thank you for the inspiration!

This was a great listen. As someone who has has a love/hate relationship with social media over the years, I appreciated Kat's perspective on it, she had some really great, more positive, points to make about it.

“Notice the gap, then close the gap.” Put so simply, but there’s power in those words! And a reminder that noticing the gap at all is an important first step.

Well, count me as one who loves being on social media. But I don’t do it for business, I do it for fun and to keep in touch with my online friends. People say social media is awful, nothing but negativity and trolls. I don’t see any of that. I did in the beginning I guess but after blocking everybody that was negative, now I just see positive, interesting, hilarious posts, and I love to share the best of them.
